Vehicles in German Town Found Marked with Swastikas in Blood, Police State

Incident location Affected vehicle Local Law Enforcement
Police reported they were contacted by a man who discovered a vehicle in Hanau marked with reddish fluid

Roughly 50 automobiles have been smeared with what seems to be blood from a person in the Germany's city of Hanau in proximity to Frankfurt, police confirm authorities.

Automobiles, walls and postal boxes were defaced, in some cases with swastikas, they reported in a release.

Police state they were notified late on Wednesday, when a man noticed that a car in the Lamboy neighborhood of Hanau had been smeared with a reddish-hued fluid.

The liquid had been applied in the pattern of a Nazi symbol, they reported.

Officers then found many other smeared cars and residential walls in the adjacent neighborhood.

Nazi symbols are banned in Germany under laws prohibiting the visible presentation of Nazi symbols.

Officials state preliminary tests show the fluid was probably human blood.

"There is still no lead as to its source; investigators are currently not cognizant of any injuries in connection with the occurrence," they commented.

Local authorities announced they were trying "to solve the mystery" and have asked to the public for details.

A senior official stated the incident left him without words and needed to be solved rapidly.

"This act affects the core of Hanau and reawakens the pain of the right-wing violent incident half a decade ago," he wrote on online, recalling the killing of nine victims by a shooter aiming at residents of foreign heritage in 2020.
